New Pill for Alzheimer’s

After successful clinical trials, a new pill to fight Alzheimer’s – made from daffodil bulbs – will be available this week.

Galantamine – made from the juice of the bulbs – has brought about improvement in 60 to 70% of patients being treated, ameliorating the symptoms and stopping the disease progressing further.

A synthetic form of Galantamine, released under the trade name ‘Reminyl’ will be available in selected NHS hospitals later this week
